How many days between dates?
Assume you have a difficult project due at work. July 14 has arrived. Your boss wants to check on the project’s progress 14 days before it ends.
You can start by asking yourself two important questions:
- When will the progress check be performed?
- How many days are left until the progress check?
To answer the first question, we must subtract 14 days from September 27. If you enter 14 days as the days between September 27 as the end date into the day counter, you will quickly discover that the progress check will occur on September 13.
You can even calculate the number of days between July 14 (the start date) and September 13 (the end date) now that we know when the progress checks will take place (the end date). The result is 61 days, which is how much time you have left to work on your project.
Not sure if the outcome is correct? Check it out with the date duration calculator! You could also find the number of business days between the two dates, which will be the number of days you must work!
